Each volume of Sloe Moon quickly becomes my favorite, and Eastbay is no exception. Sloe continues to change, stepping into their paower and finding themself despite the interference of some rascally gods. With a new setting to explore, Kuhtz's world expands with vivid scenery and perfectly delivered twists and turns of court drama and royal intrigue. I especially love the exploration of a society who holds to a rigid religion and rejects queer life while bursting at the seams with longing and hunger. It's an apt and delicious metaphor for what plays out in our own world.
